Scope and Contents

Petra Guillen (1919-2015) came to Houston in 1921, from the Mexican state of San Luis Potosi. She began teaching catechism at the age of 10 to public school children in different neighborhoods as part of the establishment of the Missionary Catechists from the Our Lady of Guadalupe parish. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe and choose to stay in the Second Ward to be close to the church.
