Biographical / Historical

Kenneth Franzheim was born on October 28, 1890, in Wheeling, West Virginia. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked for firms in New York, Boston and Chicago, before moving to Houston in 1928. He worked on several projects for Houston entrepreneur Jesse Jones including the Gulf Building with Alfred C. Finn. Franzheim also designed the Foley’s store in downtowen Houston. He died on March 13, 1959 in Mexico and was buried in Houston.
