The society works to promote Scottish/Celtic culture and heritage. It was also created to provide opportunities for good fellowship and social contact through typically Scottish functions and to help keep Scottish culture alive in Houston.Through the society they also created the Robert Burns club in 1984 which holds readings of his poetry, prose, letters along with discussions about the history surrounding Robert Burns' time.
