Scope and Contents
This collection includes architectural specification books belonging to Roy W. Leibsle, A.I.A, for the Houston Municipal Airport (1949, 1950), Woodland Park Recreational Building (1948), Hartman Park Recreational Building (1953), Roberts Elementary School (1947), and Jefferson Davis High School (1949). Of note, is a set of specifications for the construction of Houston City Hall (1937).

Biographical Note
Roy Walter Leibsle was born in Conrad, Iowa March 1892 and graduated with a B.S. in Architecture at the University of Houston. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, Houston Chapter and was the primary or assistant architect working on various buildings in the Houston area. Leibsle designed the Clarke and Carts Building in Houston. He was also a designer for architect Joseph Finger from 1929-1940, including work for the 1939 Houston City Hall project. He died in Bexar County, Texas in 1968.
