Biographical / Historical

The Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission was established on January 31, 1984 by City of Houston Ordinance no. 84-164. It consists of a 13-member board. This board reviews historic, district, landmark, protected landmark, and archaeological site designations within the City of Houston. It also issues Certificates of Appropriateness for the City of Houston’s landmarks and historic districts.
