Julia Ideson Postcard Collection

 Collection
Identifier: MSS 1039

Scope and Contents

This collection contains 9548 postcards, many of which were purportedly collected during Julia Ideson's travels. Both American and European locations are prominently featured. In addition to individual cards, ther are also booklets of postcards, and other travel-related pamphlets.

The bulk of the postcards are undated and were not mailed. Some do contain messages, while a smaller number also include postmarks with dates. Most of the postcards appear to be from Ideson's lifetime. However, the presence of cards postmarked after her death in 1945 suggests Library staff or others continued to add to this collection.
