Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials from a wide variety of clubs and organizations in Houston. The types of materials include directories and yearbooks, newsletters, programs, by-laws, memos, brochures, bulletins and scrapbooks. The types of organizations include charitable, service, civic, gardening, recreational, religious, literature, study, political and social. Many of the organizations from the early to mid 20th century are women's clubs.

Scope and Contents

The Houston Philosophical Society Records contain a small ledger with meeting minutes and a large scrapbook with speeches, meeting notes, and a few newspaper clippings. The collection also includes several additional meeting notes and speeches given by members and guests of the Society and some correspondence.

This collection consists of the organizational records related to Nuestra Palabra. This includes administrative files, publications, and photographs. The bulk of the collection is made up of promotional materials for programs and events, press kits for authors, and newspaper clippings that feature Nuestra Palabra programs.
