The Dr. S.O. Young Papers is a small collection of newspaper clippings, manuscripts, pamphlets, and correspondence relating to the activities of Dr. S.O. Young and his mother, Maud J. Young. The subject matter of the content ranges from Dr. Young's scientific writings to his thoughts on race relations during and after Reconstruction and his correspondence with fellow Confederate veterans of the Civil War. Dr. Young was also in Galveston at the time of the 1900 storm.

Edwin A. Bonewitz Papers

Bonewitz Papers is a small holding of manuscripts, maps, drawings, correspondence, and notes of a lay historian relating to the history of Texas and especially Houston during the Republic and early statehood periods. Although Bonewitz researched most of his adult life, the collection consists of material he compiled after 1950; the rest was destroyed.
