Scope and Contents This photographic collection chronicles the beginning and growth of the manufacturing company founded by Howard Hughes, Sr. and Frank Sharp in 1908. The photographs in this collection date from 1906-1979. There are over 4,500 negatives, 5,000 prints and written documentation which yields an 80-year historical portrait of the oil industry.
