Esperson Building Collection

Scope and Contents The Esperson Building Collection consists of specifications, newspaper special issues for building openings, newspaper clippings, an unbound scrapbook, and photographs detailing the construction and opening of the Esperson buildings in downtown Houston in the 1920s and 1940s. The photos are of the construction with indoor and outdoor shots, as well as the completed building, including a night shot.

While the collection contains a few items related to the personal life of Sullivan the majority is focused on the work of his firms. This collection also contains documents relating to Sullivan's role as Treasurer for the American Institute of Architects.

Of note, is a set of specifications for the construction of Houston City Hall (1937).
