Black History Calendars of Liberty County
The Black History Calendar of Liberty County Collection is comprised of annual calendars jointly produced by the Liberty County Historical Commission and the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center in Liberty, Texas. The calendars were produced to recognize the rich history of African Americans in Liberty County. The years covered by the collection are from 2001-2010.
Houston Historic Landmark and Protected Landmark Reports
Collection contains landmark nominations, protected landmark nominations, National Residential Historic District applications and research created by Preservation Houston staff members that detail the history of buildings structures in black neighborhoods. Researchers interested in the history of black neighborhoods in Houston will find this collection a valuable resource.
Patricia Smith Prather Collection
Westmoreland Historic District Collection
The collection is comprised primarily of documents related to and supporting the petitioning of the Westmoreland Civic Association to attain historic landmark status for homes in the Westmoreland District of Houston. The bulk of the collection consists of the research on the architecture, ownership and history of individual properties in this area. It also includes some personal narratives of early homeowners, copies of the petitions and 29 photographs of the homes.
